Following confirmation that Konami and Hideo Kojima have parted ways, fans started to worry about the future of "Silent Hills" PS4 release date.
While there hasn't been any official announcement coming from both parties, an infamous site claiming that a source which origin has been unknown, called Cyberland announced that the game has been cancelled.
"Silent Hills has been cancelled. Hideo Kojima did not allow Konami to use the Fox Engine to make the game and Konami has since put the game on ice and my sources tell me that the project is now effectively cancelled," Cyberland who literally do not exist based on research, allegedly wrote.
In the contrary, Game Center Online, claimed that the schedued PS4 release date for "Silent Hills" is well on its way and that the development "will continue even without further involvement from Mr. Kojima."
Hideo Kojima previously told WatifGaming that the highly anticipated game' development, involving "Walking Dead" star Norman Reedus is full steam ahead.
"Development is cycling between either allowing players to choose to play the whole game in first person or third person, or keeping it fixed third person and having some areas be first person only," he explained. "Either way we want to do something with first person. The game will not be out more than likely until 2016, lots of time left."
Metro UK even reported that Kojima promised fans that his collaboration with Guillermo del Toro will lead fans to "s*** your pants" once "Silent Hills" hits the shelves.
"The one thing that I can say about 'Silent Hills,' and this is something I've been discussing with Guillermo del Toro as well, is that originally we were thinking of making a game that would make you pee your pants, but at this point we've changed our minds, and now we're aiming for a game that will make you s*** your pants," he teased.
"One thing that you have to keep in mind is that, if a game is too scary, people just won't play it. If it gets too scary you just keep your eyes shut and soon it will be over. But if it's a game, people will just stop. So that's why there's a limit on how scary you can make a game."
Adding, "But in this case we're totally ignoring that and, you know what? If you don't want to keep on playing through the game, so be it. We don't care. That's the game we are aiming for."
Furthermore, Konami in an official statement explained why they had to take down the Hideo Kojima tagline from both "Metal Gear" and "Silent Hills" website.
"Konami has switched from a studio-based to a headquarters-based organization, so [Kojima Productions] wouldn't be listed as a studio anymore," the giant gaming studio reportedly stated. "At this time, there are no additional updates to share."
The studio never mentioned anything about "Silent Hills" PS4 release date being cancelled.
