Steve Irwin's son Robert is proving to be just as fearless as his late father. In recent photos released to the public, the 8-year old Australian boy is seen handling a young crocodile.
Robert, who lives with his mother and older sister, Bindi, in the middle of the Australia Zoo, was photographed handling crocodiles and snakes. As a baby his father was pictured feeding a crocodile while holding him in the other arm.
At the time the pictures were released, Steve Irwin and his family received criticism for being a bad parent and purposely putting their son's life in such danger.
However, Steve was very well trained and nothing bad happened in that arena. Unfortunately, Steve was later killed at the age of 44 by a stingray as he swam off the coast of Australia in 2006.
Both children were very close with their father and were involved in just about every aspect of taking care of the animals they were always surrounded by, even though Robert was just a toddler when Irwin was fatally stung in the chest by a stingray.
Irwin was filming a documentary at the time with Bindi in the Great Barrier Reef. His death came as a shock to all but his fearless lifestyle inspired his children to follow in his footsteps as they have an ingrained love for wildlife. Bindi has gone on to release her own line of books called the "Wildlife Adventure Series".
