Attack is sweeter the second time around.
No, this is not some kind of tag-line for a smartphone game but the gist of recent "Vikings" season 3 episode guide released by History Channel for its original historical drama.
After failing in their first assault on Paris, the Norsemen lead by Ragnar Lothbrok (Travis Fimmel), Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick), and Rollo (Clive Standen) decided to regroup. Of course, being the warriors that they are, they will not back down and instead attack again.
The main character will be kept busy by the invasion of Paris. Does that mean there is no more room for their personal lives? In the current season, Lagertha has the most intriguing personal life. Winnick's character started the season getting too cozy with another king and in the latest episode, she shared a kiss, almost naked, with Kalf.
Fans can't help but ask, is Lagertha looking for another man? With Bjorn now all grown-up, is she trying to have new babies? Will the next "Vikings" season 3 episode guide be about Lagertha having to sit out the fights because she's pregnant?
Katheryn Winnick was asked this very question during an interview with Den of Geek and according to her, Lagertha would not swap shields and swords for another baby.
"I'm not sure she wants another child other than when we saw at the beginning of season three that she was trying to find out from the seer what her next step was. What her destiny is, what she is meant for, and where her identity is," Winnick said.
While a baby is more probably not on the plan, Winnick still provided a big "Vikings" season 3 episode guide regarding her character and the show as whole.
"There are so many great things to look forward to. I would say mostly the storyline gets even more intense. The characters are going to be seen on a different level in terms of personal relationships, back story, and their own conflicts. And Lagertha (in season 2) was Jarl in her own right and now she leaves her kingdom to Kalf, but you see that she is usurped. That brings on a whole new set of conflicts: she asks Ragnar for help and how he responds to that is...interesting [chuckles]. Here (in Ragnar) you have someone who was such a big part of her life, someone that she kind of raised and groomed into his position and she has to deal with that sense of betrayal caused by his reaction to her request. And of course, there are other feelings involved, as well because of their history and you will see her in a different light than you have seen her in before."
