"Orphan Black" season 3 premiere is set to happen this Sunday.
A lot of changes are expected in the BBC America sci-fi series' return. The biggest of which is the arrival of male clones.
Ari Millen, who appeared in the second season as Mark, is set to play a number of characters just like Tatiana Maslany who brilliantly plays female clones. According to spoilers released, these male projects are from Castor and are intended to make up a super army. But first, their mission is to erase their female counterparts who were created by LEDA.
Millen sat down with Interview Magazine ahead of the "Orphan Black" season 3 premiere on April 18 and there he shared more details about his characters and the new challenge in his young career.
One of the biggest questions in the new season is, how many male clones will there be? Millen said he does not know yet.
"At the end of last season, I only knew of two more: Rudy and Miller. But I didn't know the names; I didn't even know who they were," the American actor said.
"I just had the visuals of who they were. I don't think [the writers] even really knew-they hadn't fleshed them out. Stephen [Lynch] and Sandy [Sokolowski]-the key hair and makeup team on the show-gave them these strong visuals to work with and they were able to brainstorm and extrapolate from there. The scar and the mohawk for Rudy. Miller was just very military-they knew they wanted the military to have taken over the clone program, so that was a very strong visual. They put Miller in fatigues. This season we've gone further with the characterization."
Right now, the clearer detail about Millen's character is that there will be at least four male clones in the "Orphan Black" season 3 premiere episode. They have been shared by the show in pictures and trailers released over the past weeks.
"Orphan Black" season 3 premiere will broadcast by BBC America, SundanceTV, WE TV, IFC , and AMC.
