'Blue Moon' Singer Andy Williams Dies

Andy Williams dies at the age of 84 on Tuesday after battling bladder cancer for over a year. Williams was one of the last crooners from the golden age of easy-listening pop music.

Andy Williams, whose signature tune was "Moon River" and "Can't Take My Eyes Off of You," passed away at his home in Branson, Missouri Tuesday night, his representative confirmed in a statement released Wednesday morning.

He received 18 gold and three platinum albums over his long career and was nominated for five Grammy awards. He released an autobiography in 2009, "Moon River and Me: A Memoir."

Williams' last posting on Twitter was September 22 at just after 11:00 pm, a single word: "Sigh."

He was the host of NBC's "The Andy Williams Show" from 1962 to 1971. President Ronald Reagan to dub him "a national treasure" and over his 75-year span in the business, Williams has earned 17 gold and three platinum records.

Williams is survived by his wife, Debbie, and his three children.
