While fans are patiently waiting for a "Kingdom Hearts 3" release date announcement, speculations arise claiming that it could happen at 2015 D23 Expo in Anaheim this August in line with the trailer.
VC Post added that while a trailer and release date might be announced at D23 other details could also be revealed at E3 in June.
And while no statement has been offered as of press time, Square Enix president, Yosuke Matsuda revealed in his last year's interview that the they have a surprise for the gamers.
"At the moment, we have major titles such as Dragon Quest Heroes and Final Fantasy Type-0 HD," he said.
"In 2015, I believe we will offer a vast number of high-end games in both the domestic market and overseas. Now that we've already announced Final Fantasy XV, we will also reveal information on [another] JRPG. I believe we have a bit of a surprise in store for this year."
In addition to the anticipation of Disney-themed RPG's release date, fans are also eager to hear news about the new characters that would be included in the game.
The inclusion of Marvel and Star Wars characters have been rumored for sometime and while co-creator Tai Yasue never really confirmed or denied the rumors fans are expecting something from the said movies.
"I can't really go into any specifics or say anything about Star Wars, but when we come up with worlds we really want variety and to make sure that there's a lot of different types of worlds," Yasue answered in an interview with Kotaku.
In a separate interview with IGN he also revealed that that he is not yet looking into adding Star Wars characters in "Kingdom Hearts 3."
"Any world that looks special is definitely a consideration; everything from the characters, to how they look and the differences between them. We think Star Wars is great but I'm not going to relate that to Kingdom Hearts III yet! We want a wide variety of worlds and when we come up with ideas, it's the differences and the originality of each that's really important."
And if no Star Wars and Marvel characters would appear in "Kingdom Hearts 3" once released Motoring Crunch mentioned that its weapons could very well included in the gameplay.
"Even if the likes of Captain America and Obi Wan Kenobi don't make it into Kingdom Hearts 3, we feel that Square Enix might introduce the weapons from the aforementioned worlds," the gaming publication mentioned.
Adding that the idea was already teased by their source close to Square Enix. The said source reportedly claimed that there is a possibility that Sora would "get the ability to wield a light saber." Goofy on the other hand, could be getting added boost in its defense with the help of Captain America's shield.
While Square Enix has yet to comment on the news, a latest poll from Famitsu Most Wanted list of video games revealed that "Kingdom Hearts 3" is fast becoming a top candidate for the most anticipated game coming to PS4 and Xbox One consoles.
The poll revealed that "Kingdom Hearts 3" is already in the fifth place.
And as for the release date Amazon already revealed a pre-order price ($40.99) for "Kingdom Hearts 3" despite no official announcement yet.
