The LG G4 release date has been set for April 28 in a simultaneous event in various cities around the world. LG teased the upcoming flagship in a short clip that reveals a 16MP rear camera with f 1.8 aperture. According to LG, the G4 has the "widest aperture camera developed" for a phone by LG Innotek, Droid Life reported.
BGR added that its front snapper has an 8-megapixel sensor with an ultra-thin IR filter which keeps infrared light from entering the camera lens, "giving images taken with the front camera more natural and accurate colors." The special IR filter is also half the depth of other IR filters at 0.11mm thick.
As the days are nearing to its official launch, LG will let 4,000 users to experience its 2015 flagship first hand through its 'consumer experience campaign' across 15 countries including US, UK and Korea before the G4 hit the stores shelves. The phone will be given to selected users a day or two after it was unveiled on April 28. (via WSJ)
"Participants will be selected from applicants based on their entry responses (selection criteria may vary in each market). Individuals can increase their chances of being selected by sharing their application experience on social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and Weibo,'' LG said on its blog post.
The selected users will then share their thoughts on the hardware, features and software of the LG G4. Interested participants may need to wait for the mechanics of the campaign that will be posted on LG's official website these coming days.
"We're putting the success of LG G4 in the hands of consumers before the launch because we believe they are the best judge of a great user experience, beyond just benchmarks and speed tests,'' Juno Cho, president and CEO of LG Mobile, added.
