‘Sherlock’ Star Benedict Cumberbatch’s Life-Sized Statue Being Licked And Bitten Off! Find Out Why!

Is "Sherlock" star Benedict Cumberbatch really attractive?

UKTV tested that theory ahead of Good Friday as they put up a life-sized statue of the Oscar-nominated actor in pure chocolate!

Titled "The Chocolate Cumberbatch Chocolate Temptation Experiment," the crew set up the said statue in the middle of Westfield Stratford shopping center in London. It stood in all its 88-pound chocolate glory as mall-goers converged around the 6-feet tall Cumberbatch statue.

The test was meant to figure out if "The Imitation Game" star - a chocolate statue - was as irresistible as he was in real life.

Sure enough it attracted all kinds of intrigued tasters - from dogs to little kids to grandmothers.

Oblivious to hidden cameras around the area, some gently kissed his thighs and licked his face, while the more brazen kids broke off a finger or two. The dogs were left to taste "Sherlock" star Benedict Cumberbatch's delectable feet.

On the other hand, the more reserved ones just looked on or took videos of the event.

Meanwhile, the real man in question is too busy to stand in the middle of a London mall for hours. He recently married theatre actress and director Sophie Hunter and is already preparing for their first "Cumberbaby."

He also finished filming the special episode for the hit BBC drama, "Sherlock," ahead of his appearances in several award shows for his role in "The Imitation Game."

As for the 38-year-old being very irresistible, actor and TV producer Mark Gatiss said that playing Sherlock Holmes in the Emmy-award winning series helped him become the sex symbol that he has become today.

In turn, Cumberbatch also helped turn the classic fictional character into a "desirable" and "sexy" individual.

"There is something very Mr Darcy-esque about his Sherlock. He is unattainable," the "Game Of Thrones" actor shared to The Big Issue. "He explicitly claims no interest in either sex, therefore he becomes very desirable."

He added that Cumberbatch's portrayal of the great detective was "quite Byronic" turning him into a mysterious and intriguing character. Traits that the public apparently can't resist.
