Roger Moore, Former James Bond Star, Denies Racist Comments About Idris Elba! ‘Thor’ Star Says Opportunity To Play Bond Is ‘Gone’

| By

'Thor' star Idris Elba recently reacted to former "James Bond" star Sir Roger Moore's racist comments about him.

The alleged racist statements came after news of "The Wire" star being considered for the legendary role surfaced from the Sony email hacking last December.

As hot as Elba is right now, can he possibly play the iconic James Bond role?

According to Sir Roger Moore, who brought the legendary character to the big screen in the 80s and 90s, insisted that Elba can't become 007 in future films. He previously told The Telegraph that Bond should be played by an "English-English."

"Although James may have been played by a Scot, a Welshman and an Irishman, I think he should be 'English-English.' Nevertheless, it's an interesting idea, but unrealistic," Sir Roger Moore's racist statement reportedly read.

The 87-year-old actor quickly denied the supposed malice in his statement last Saturday through Twitter, adding that his comment was simply "#Lost in translation."

"An interview I gave to Paris Match implies I said something racist about Idris Elba," he tweeted. "That is simply untrue."

Meanwhile, the man in question also responded to the talk, Perez Hilton revealed.

"I was born here. I was born in England, born and raised," the "Luther" star reportedly responded to all Moore's comment.

Despite his "English-English" qualification already accounted for, he nevertheless admitted that any chances of playing James Bond in future films were already "gone."

"It's a rumor that's really started to eat itself," he reportedly continued to share. "If there was a chance of me getting Bond, it's gone."

Daniel Craig, who played the charming spy in the last three films, will be reprising the role for "Spectre."

Can Idris Elba still get a chance to become the next James Bond in future movies despite the rumors of Sir Roger Moore's racist comments?
