Following the release of "Insurgent" fans are wondering why they haven't seen Theo James' girlfriend, Ruth Kearner, during the red carpet premiere.
The 30-year-old English actor and his 23-year-old leading lady are seen inseparable from the time the movie started to shoot until the promotion period and up to the premiere nights in different places.
While some are speculating that Theo James girlfriend's absence from the events are some sort of publicity stunt, the chemistry between him and Shailene Woodley is undeniable.
During an interview with the Today Show both stars answered personal questions about each other, showing how comfortable they are together.
"The Fault in Our Stars" actress candidly shared what's the weirdest gift a fan ever gave to her co-star, Theo James.
"Ruby necklace," she wrote on the paper provided in the show.
"It's true, James immediately reacted confirming Woodley's answer. "It's a necklace. Whether it was a ruby, I'm not sure ... but I like it."
"What's the one item that Shailene couldn't live without?" Ruth Kearney's boyfriend was asked.
"Red wine," he quickly responded on the piece of paper.
Shailene Woodley nod in agreement.
While the closeness of the two stars was clearly shown during the interview, there are claims that Theo James is still very much in love with his girlfriend, Ruth Kearney, despite the lack of public appearance.
According to reports, Kearney deeply inspired James in doing the complex scenes in "Insurgent."
"What I liked about him is he's not Joe Hero," James described his character in LA Times. "He's a quiet person in some ways. He's authoritative. He has a good moral objective. He's not just willingly accepting of any kind of leadership destiny."
And him not bringing Ruth Kearney to the red carpet does not mean that he's ditching his girlfriend for Shailene Woodley. In a previous interview with Flaunt, Theo James admitted that he is a very private person and that he's never been comfortable in sharing his life to the public, thus he does not own any social media accounts.
"I don't think I'd want to share those elements of my private life," James confessed.
"I don't have it and I never will. Other actors I know are really good at it and they rock and roll it, but it's not for me. If I post a picture of us having a drink now and get loads of views or comments and stuff, then suddenly you're quite exposed and you're in a world of work. I just like being present."
