Following Konami's decision to pull out "A Hideo Kojima game" tagline and the studio's logo from both "Metal Gear" and "Silent Hills" website, a speculation that the game's PS4 release date would be in jeopardy started to spread.
Konami immediately released an official statement via Game Spot explaining the decision to remove Hideo Kojima from the website.
"Konami has switched from a studio-based to a headquarters-based organization, so [Kojima Productions] wouldn't be listed as a studio anymore," the giant gaming studio reportedly stated. "At this time, there are no additional updates to share."
Adding that they "have no new announcements regarding "Silent Hills" at this time."
To futher add fuel to the fire, Kojima's statement claiming that he'll finish the development of "Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain" before separating with Konami, immediately caused a stir as worried fans speculated that the highly anticipated "Silent Hills" will not reach the shelves anymore.
"I want to reassure fans that I am 100% involved and will continue working on METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN; I'm determined to make it the greatest game I've directed to date. Don't miss it!" Kojima said in a report by Movie Pilot.
However, Game Center Online, claimed that "Silent Hills" PS4 release date is not experiencing any trouble and the development "will continue even without further involvement from Mr. Kojima."
Furthermore, WatifGaming previously reported that Kojima previously hinted that "Silent Hills" PS4 release date is coming next year, thus it is safe to assume that the game is definitely in the right track.
"Development is cycling between either allowing players to choose to play the whole game in first person or third person, or keeping it fixed third person and having some areas be first person only," he explained. "Either way we want to do something with first person. The game will not be out more than likely until 2016, lots of time left."
Kojima even promised gamers that they will "s*** their pants," Metro UK reported.
"The one thing that I can say about 'Silent Hills,' and this is something I've been discussing with Guillermo del Toro as well, is that originally we were thinking of making a game that would make you pee your pants, but at this point we've changed our minds, and now we're aiming for a game that will make you s*** your pants," he teased.
"One thing that you have to keep in mind is that, if a game is too scary, people just won't play it. If it gets too scary you just keep your eyes shut and soon it will be over. But if it's a game, people will just stop. So that's why there's a limit on how scary you can make a game."
Adding, "But in this case we're totally ignoring that and, you know what? If you don't want to keep on playing through the game, so be it. We don't care. That's the game we are aiming for."
