Recent reports have it that critically-acclaimed director Guillermo del Toro is set to direct some episodes of “Hannibal,” sending fans into frenzy.
This news has definitely pumped up many Fannibals while waiting for the “Hannibal” season 3 premiere which was moved to summer instead of the 2nd quarter of the year.
The truth is, the Mexican director known for his works in “Hellboy” series, “Pan's Labyrinth” and “Pacific Rim” is not connected to any episodes of the NBC show. It was just an honest mistake from the promoter of the NBC series.
Di Laurentiis Company clarified on Twitter that the director, screenwriter, producer, and novelist is not part of the show and they just misspelled the name of the real director on the show, Guillermo Navarro. “Hanninal” season 3 premiere episode and next two will be directed by Vincenzo Natali who manned two episodes in the second season.
“Hannibal” season 3 premiere is on June 4 – this is the most genuine (and most painful for Fannibals) news about the show swirling around these days. Another truth about the return of the show is that it is about to become the best horror show on television again with the fact it will explore the worlds of “Red Dragon” and “Hannibal” novels by Thomas Harris.
This part of the show will be seen by the second half of the season after a huge time jump. Several characters added in the show are Francis Dolarhyde to be played by Richard Armitage, Rutina Wesley as Reba McClane, Fortunato Cerlino as Rinaldo Pazzi, and Nina Arianda as Molly Graham.
“Hannibal” season 3 premiere episode will start with Dr. Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen) and Dr. Bedelia du Maurier (Gillian Anderson) in Italy posing as couple and looking for a new prey. That is at least four months since the events from the second season finale that left Will Graham (Hugh Dancy) and Agent Jack Crawford (Laurence Fishburne) gutted.
