With the latest shocking event in History Channel original TV series "Vikings" what fans can expect next?
Last week was distressful for many especially for those who have been throwing solid support for this latest casualty.
(Spoiler ahead)
In last week's episode titled "Born Again," someone experienced a rebirth of faith. However, his "new" life didn't last long as he was killed by Floki (Gustaf Skarsgård). He is no other than Althestan (George Blagden).
Floki, the self-proclaimed descendant of trickster god Loki, has been very suspicious of the Christian monk. Will he regret what he did? According to recent "Vikings" season 3 episode guide from creator Michael Hirst, he will.
"The answer is, 'yes.' He's divided about it, but his divisions are very deep and they don't come out immediately. If you watch this season, you'll see exactly how he feels about it and it's very emotional. You really get the full impact of that in the final episode," Hirst said in an interview with Zap2It shortly after that last "Vikings" season 3 episode.
While Floki will have some sort of regret over what he did to Althestan, Ragnar Lothbrok will feel isolated with the loss of the person he treated as friend.
"Now, this is Ragnar paying tribute to Athelstan by doing the same thing," Hirst said when asked for a "Vikings" season 3 episode guide regarding Ragnar's reaction on Althestan's murder.
"It's also a visible sign that he's a changed person, though. What I didn't want to do ... It's not a Western, so I didn't want him to turn around and immediately get the guy. He's clearly going to get the man who did this but that's for the future.
In the immediate aftermath, he's going to mourn his friend and consequently be a lonely figure. It's a desolate thing to happen to him."
