There is a new S.H.I.E.L.D. and they pose threats to Phil Coulson's team who have been continuing the vision of the organization.
While Coulson and his crew are busy fighting evil, they are unaware a group has risen and ready to conduct a hostile take over, meaning to erase the existing independent S.H.I.E.L.D.
As seen in the very last episode titled "Love in the Time of Hydra" these government officials that surfaced claim to be the good guys.
According to recent "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." season 2 episode guide, the battle for control of espionage, law-enforcement, and counter-terrorism agency will continue and things will be difficult for Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) and his crew.
While the arrival of this "real" S.H.I.E.L.D. does not sit well for many fans, the return of this character is something many have been anticipating, especially because her exposure in this current season was short-lived.
According to an "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." season 2 episode guide from Entertainment Weekly, Lucy Lawless' Isabelle Hartley is set to return. However, it might not be the kind of return that the audience wants. The entertainment website also teased shedding light about the 'real' S.H.I.E.L.D.
"Tuesday's episode will feature the return of Lucy Lawless as Isabelle Hartley. Unfortunately, she's still dead, but we'll get a flashback to the day S.H.I.E.L.D. fell and find out exactly how the real S.H.I.E.L.D. came to be. Unfortunately, not all of the real S.H.I.E.L.D.'s leaders agree on how to handle the hostile takeover, which will lead to a number of injuries. Injuries, though, not fatalities. Don't worry!"
