"GTA 5" update 1.08 caused uproar on Twitter when some fans noticed that there had been graphics downgrade.
A YouTube video from ElAnalistaDeBits showed a comparison of the visuals from version 1.0 and version 1.08 of the game, Cinema Blend reported.
Yesterday, Rockstar acknowledged that there had been changes on "GTA 5's" graphics and promises to bring another update soon as the game developers concluded it's investigation.
"We are aware of some graphical issues on the Xbox One and PS4 versions of GTAV after the most recent Title Update, and we are investigating a fix now," the developer wrote on 'GTA 5' support page.
"If you would like to receive an automatic email notification as soon as there is more information, please log into the Support Site and click Subscribe at the top of this page."
According to IB Times, some members of NeoGAF speculated on their forum that the downgrade was intentional so that the Heists would work.
Attack of the Fanboy noted that the comparison uploaded on YouTube was in single player mode and does require downgrading the graphics for the Heists to function. While other gamers said that it was done for stable framerate.
CinemaBlend added that the downgrades ''include shorter draw-distance, less detailed collision damage on cars and worse anistropic filtering. Some of the changes are pretty subtle on their own but added up together, there's no question the performance of the game on PS4 and Xbox One has been worsened by Update 1.08.''
Meanwhile Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 consoles were not affected by the downgrade, Gamespot reported.
"GTA 5" Online Heists was recently released as a new type of gameplay that's included on the update and features a multiplayer co-op mission.
Players can unlock the Heists at rank 12 with high-end apartments and will receive a call from Lester and a visit to his garment factory.
However, it was highlighted on the overview of the game that there's a short delay between each Heists, but Lester will get in touch with the player whenever a Heist is ready or players can replay the Heist strand by calling Lester using the "Request Heist" option.
