The Nokia Project McLaren never hit the market when Microsoft abruptly stopped its development and cancelled the product for no apparent reason, Christian Today reported.
Though it was cancelled, WindowsBlogItalia revealed the Project McLaren's Mixview feature and showed an actual documentation from Microsoft.
"The feature would have a central small tile (150×150 pixels) surrounded by up to 8 tiles which could have a combination of text and images. These tiles would have been activated by hovering over the small tile, but in non-3D Touch handsets it would work by touching a corner area of the tile with ellipses instead,'' WM Power User wrote.
"On a Facebook Tile you may see a messaging Tile and phone for example that would allow Windows Phone users to quickly call pinned contacts. The Tiles displayed on screen look like they have simply exploded from the original tile."
In addition, it was also revealed in the documentation that the feature supports up to 4 tiles optionally overlaid with a single text ring normally used as label and 'if the user hovers over one of these sub-tiles the, the text scroll.''
WM Power Users also believes that the upcoming Lumia 940 will carry the Mixview feature.
Along with the Mixview feature, the Lumia 940 will have a biometric sensor for user's authentication as revealed by a source of Fudzilla. The iris sensor is said to work on low light condition as it relies on near-infrared imaging.
Another interesting rumored feature of the Lumia 940 is a docking station. Though there is limited information about its dock functionalities, Fudzilla believes that it might feature a connected accessories, or will work as a standalone computer like the Motorola Atrix.
Meanwhile, IB Times added that the upcoming Lumia 940 has the capabilities to detect whether a user is left or right handed with some of its sensor and added applications.
