Chris Brown Album in London Gets Warning Label: ‘This Man Beats Women’

| By

Chris Brown has recently dropped his latest album "Fortune," which has gotten mixed reviews, but there's one store in London which is definitely not promoting it.

Customers shopping for CDs at HMV stores in London have reported seeing an "advisory label' on Chris Brown's latest album warning patrons not to buy the album because "this man beats women."

Fortune came out in July and it has sold fewer than 300,000 units so far. By contrast, "Exclusive", the last album he put out before the Rihanna incident sold more than 2 million units.

Brown was charged with felony assault in 2009 after he physically abused his then-girlfriend Rihanna. He pleaded guilty and was sentenced to five years probation, as well as community service and domestic violence counseling.

It's unclear how the stickers got on copies of Fortune, Brown's fifth studio album, but Gigwise reports that there are believed to have been placed on the CD cases by anti-domestic-violence activists.

Despite negative reviews, "Fortune" debuted at number one on the album sales charts both in the UK and here in the US. The lead single "Turn Up the Music" reached number 10 on the US Billboard Hot 100, and number one on the UK Singles Chart. "Sweet Love" and "Till I Die" were released as the album's second and third singles, respectively. "Don't Wake Me Up" was released as the fourth single and reached the top ten in several international countries. "Don't Judge Me" was released as the fifth single from Fortune. To promote the album, Brown made several award show and televised appearances across America.
