This upcoming Marvel sequel will be Jennifer Lawrence's last time joining the "X-Men Apocalypse" cast, but that doesn't mean new actresses won't be joining the film.
Thankfully, director Bryan Singer announced yesterday that a new female character will be added to the crew.
The helmer posted a photo of newcomer Lana Condor on his Instagram account, naming her the new addition to the sequel. Which character will she be playing?
According to the film's director, Condor will be bringing Jubilee or Jubilation Lee to life.
"I'd officially like to welcome our newest mutant #JubilationLee, #Jubilee @LanaCondor to #XMEN," Singer wrote as caption.
According to HitFix, her role (along with the younger versions of the well-known characters in the "X-Men Apocalypse" cast) is a potential pull for a younger audience since Jubilee herself is the youngest in the team.
As a newbie with several questions about her powers and the mutant-human prejudice, she reportedly became the cipher for very young viewers to better understand the X-Men universe.
AV Club noted that since Condor is a newbie, there would be no past movies or characters to contend with. Past actresses who took on the iconic role, Katrina Florence and Kea Wong, didn't really make a huge impact in the past "X-Men" movies.
However, there is still no clear announcement as to how significant Jubilee's role will be in the upcoming film.
Condor will be joining other "X-Men Apocalypse" cast members Sophie Turner, Tye Sheridan, Alexandra Shipp and Kodie Smit-McPhee who will reportedly be playing younger versions of Jean Grey, Cyclops, Storm and Nightcrawler respectively.
James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, Nicholas Hoult and Rose Byrne will also be reprising their roles for the film. Meanwhile, Oscar Isaac will be taking on the role of the villain Apocalypse.
The upcoming sequel is set to hit cinemas on May 27, 2016 and filming will soon start later this year.
