Amid Jonas Gutierrez's Cancer Battle, Newcastle United Made Him Feel Unwanted And He'll Never Forget About It

| By

Jonas Gutierrez cancer battle and victory is one of the most inspirational football stories in recent generation.

The Argentinian midfielder playing for the Newcastle United was forced to leave the game in May 2013 due to a tumor in his testicle he believed he contracted during a match with Arsenal.

He agreed to remove the affected testicle and was able to return to his team but then he was loaned to Norwich City. After that, he was asked to find a new club by the manager. That is what makes him furious despite his triumphant return.

Although Jonas Gutierrez cancer battle has definitely united his teammates and fans, the 31-year old footballer hasn't moved on from the time that Newcastle United made him feel unwanted.

"I won't be able to forgive the way I've been treated, no?. Because I understood the team at that time (wasn't doing so well?) that one needed to fight to return to the pitch," Gutierrez said in an interview with French television channel Canal +.

"Well I don't think it was the right time nor the circumstances and I think at times like that, you should look after the individual, the player."

Jonas Gutierrez insisted he was not asking for anything while he was in rehabilitation.

"I never asked for anything. I paid for it because for me, the most important thing, as I told you, was my health. If they thought it was OK to do it that way, then it's OK. I never asked for anything and that's it. I wasn't interested," he said.

Although he hates the Newcastle United management for their treatment on him during his battle with cancer, Jonas Gutierrez cherishes the support of the fans.

"The people from Newcastle, the fans have behaved amazingly.

"When I go around the city they congratulate me and say I'm looking very well.

"Very emotive words that make you very proud when you hear them. People have been so concerned for me and they've sent me those messages."
