Fans of the Green Lantern are all wondering who would star in the next stand-alone movie.
Tyrese Gibson has been posting images of himself wearing the green suit for months now, which started out rumors that he will headline the reboot.
However, Warner Bros. hasn't made any formal announcement yet regarding the cast of "Green Lantern". They just revealed that the new film will arrive in 2020, which will be nine years after the first film was released.
Just recently, the star of "Furious 7" shared the fan-made artworks that featured him as the Green Lantern. "The Oath- In brightest day, in blackest night, No evil shall escape my sight. Let those who worship evil's might, Beware my power, Green Lantern's light!!!" he wrote on Instagram.
Fans showed their support to the actor by leaving positive comments. "Hope you get the part! you'd be an awesome Green Lantern! You got my vote all day!" one follower wrote. "Congrats! You are perfect to play John Stewart. This will be awesome and legendary at the same time," another fan replied.
Another singer turned actor is also showing interest in the role of John Stewart. Den of Geek reported that Common was chosen for the role of the superhero for a "Justice League" project that Warner Bros. later on ditched.
Despite the failed opportunity, the 43-year-old rapper would still accept the role if given another chance. "I would love to be John Stewart and play Green Lantern," Common confessed. "That was one of those things where I was so excited because we rarely see African-American superheroes or people of color as a superhero."
In the 2011 movie, the character that was featured in "Green Lantern" was Hal Jordan which was played by Ryan Reynolds. Unfortunately, the 38-year-old actor hinted that he won't do a sequel. There were reports that "Star Trek" actor Chris Pine will take over the role. But again, there isn't any confirmation yet and it's still too early to start a pre-production of the reboot.
