Recent "The Americans" season 3 episode guide teases fans about the next mission of Philip and Elizabeth (Matthew Rhys and Keri Russell). It also talks about Stan Beeman (Noah Emmerich) and Oleg Igorevich Burov (Costa Ronin) about to execute a plan to save Nina Sergeevna (Annet Mahendru). This episode of the FX TV series is expected to become another heart-stopper. The question is, will it outdo the last two episodes that featured more of Alison Wright's Martha Hanson?
The last two episodes titled "Walter Taffet" and "Divestment" saw the vulnerable fake wife of Philip, disguising as Clark, being caught in the middle of an extensive investigation by the FBI. The naive government employee is suspicious she is being used by Clark as an accessory on something with grave implications. Her bosses Frank Gaad (Richard Thomas), Stan Beeman (Noah Emmerich) and Agent Aderholt (Brandon J. Dirden) are trying to determine who is the leak in the organization.
The center of the investigation is one bugged ballpen which Martha put in the office of her boss as per request by Clark. So what's next for her. Recent "The Americans" season 3 episode guide didn't say much about Wright's character but in an interview, the actress said that although Martha is growing suspicious of his husband, her fate will still be unpredictable.
"Well, everything's changed now for her. I'll say that it surprised me very much the way that she goes on in the following episodes. And intrigued. It's very unpredictable," Wright said in an interview with the Wall Street Journal.
When asked what Martha feels about everything that's happening, Wright said her character is feeling guilty now.
"Yes, absolutely. She is a person that has a conscience, and she does feel guilt, and she has felt guilty in the past before, and there's gonna be guilt and shame and all sorts of self-pity and self-loathing in maybe believing all of this, doing the wrong thing that she didn't want to do in the first place. She has lots of feelings going on, and how they're going to come out, how they're going to manifest in the future and in the rest of the season remains to be seen."
The next "The Americans" season 3 episode will air today and it is called "Do Mail Robots Dream of Electric Sheep?"
