Following confirmation that a "Pacific Rim 2" movie is in the works, fans have been eager in finding out updates about Guillermo del Toro's highly anticipated sequel.
And while very little details have been shared in public, We Got This Covered, suggested a rather interesting title to the sequel called, "Solar Rim."
According to the publication "Pacific Rim 2" would focus in an intergalactic battle between the insectoid aliens and humans. It also stated that it will most likely be an overkill if the story would continue on repeating the first movie's plot rather it would most likely be a story of futuristic mankind helping people in the present to deal with the kaijus.
In addition, aliens who would see the possible threat of humans would possibly deploy a massive threat to destroy the earth, but with the technological advancements provided by the allies, mankind would surely retaliate.
And while there has been no further details about the upcoming "Pacific Rim 2" movie, director Guillermo del Toro confirmed that Charlie Hunnam and Rinko Kikuchi are going to return in the sequel.
"We are taking the characters into a completely different journey this time because Raleigh (played by Hunnam) for me solved his problem the minute he was able to go full circle and save Mako by sacrificing himself, which is what he couldn't do with his brother. He's not on that journey anymore, he's on a new journey," he said via IB Times.
And when asked about his favorite character in the movie, Guillermo did not hestitate in saying,
"To me, my favorite character in many ways is Mako Mori in 'Pacific Rim'. I just love it. It's an experience that you can't get any other way."
