'Winds Of Winter' Spoilers To Be Revealed Before Release Date! 'Game Of Thrones' TV Finale Heading The Same Direction As George R.R. Martin's Novel

While fans are eagerly waiting for "Winds of Winter" release date, they might have to avoid watching "Game of Thrones" TV finale as showrunners admit that the series is heading the "same destination" as that of George R.R. Martin's book.

David Benioff, who executive produces the series with D.B. Weiss, spoke at Oxford University on March 20, revealing details about the show and the possibility that it would spoil "Winds of Winter."

"We know where things are heading," said David Benioff, who executive produces the series alongside D.B. Weiss, who was also present at the talk. "We will eventually meet up at pretty much the same place that George is going. There might be some deviations along the route, but we're heading toward the same destination."

"I wish there were some things we didn't have to spoil," Benioff told the crowd gathered at Oxford Union, the college's debate society. "We are kind of stuck between a rock and a hard place."

The "Winds of Winter" novel would be the first book in the series that George R.R. Martin has written following the release of "Game of Thrones" in HBO in 2011.

"Not in our 2015 schedule as it stands," she said.

A seventh and final book titled "A Dream of Spring" is also in the lineup, and while many are hoping that it would come out prior to the TV series finale, Martin is known to have his own process in working on his books.

"We were hoping the books would come out ahead of the show, but at the same time, George has his process, and if it takes him 20 years to finish the series, that's what it should take him," Benioff said.

But while, fans are up for some spoilers, Benioff revealed that "Game of Thrones" would somehow deviate from the novels specially with the upcoming "Winds of Winter" and "A Dream of Spring."

"There are certain things that are going to happen in the books that are different from the show," he said.

Both Kit Harington and John Bradley-West, who plays Jon Snow and Samwell Tarly respectively, admitted that they have no idea about what their characters would become in the coming seasons, the showrunners have kept the series' plot shrouded in secrecy.

"In all honestly, I have no idea where the books are heading. I have no idea who Jon Snow's mother is," Harington said. "These gentlemen here don't tell us, and I wouldn't ask."

Bradley-West on the other hand said that it's better for him not knowing what will happen to his character, "I like not knowing. I feel like I don't know, then Sam won't know. And Sam wouldn't know."
