Beyonce and husband Jay Z will host an exclusive fundraiser for President Obama next week, according to several media reports.
According to the New York Post, the $40,000-per-ticket event will take place at Jay-Z's 40/40 Club Sept. 18 and will only be open to a maximum number of 100 guests. It will be Obama's last fundraising event in New York before the election.
The fundraising event is the latest in a series of star-studded dinners the campaign is using to whip up enthusiasm among high rollers and small donors alike.
In a mass email to the campaign's mailing list, Beyonce sends a personal message to voters saying: "Jay and I will be meeting up with President Obama for an evening in NYC sometime soon. And we want you to be there!"
Beyoncé's message indicates the event will follow the pattern of the recent Sarah Jessica Parker and George Clooney-hosted fundraisers by raffling off a couple seats (plus travel and hotel costs) to donors who've contributed as little as $5.
This isn't the first time the music icons have declared their love for the Obamas. Over the summer, Beyoncé filmed an ad for President Obama's re-election campaign, reading a letter talking about how much she admired The First Lady. She also recorded a video for Mrs. Obama's initiative, "Let's Move."
