Lady Gaga shaves the back of her head as a tribute to her friend and frequent collaborator Terry Richardson following his mother's recent death.
Lady Gaga took to her Little Monsters website to share the sad news, and she posted a picture of her radical new hairstyle. Richardson, a photographer who captures Gaga behind the scenes so often that the pair released a coffee table book of candid images, announced Tuesday that his mother, Annie Lomax, had passed away.
"I did it for u Terry," Gaga wrote in a post to LittleMonsters.com, including a photo, above, of her head shaved in the back to resemble Richardson's hairline. "I'm sorry about ure mommy. She has princess die, but were all princess high."
The fashion photographer had posted a photo of his mother on Terry's Diary with the caption "R.I.P. Annie Lomax, My Mom 1938-2012." And since we've sadly become experts at deciphering Gaga's cryptic tweets, we're guessing "princess die" was referring to her song "Princess D.I. E.," a controversial tribute to the late Princess Diana.
Richardson, who has snapped the likes of Gwyneth Paltrow, Beyonce, Jennifer Aniston and Kate Upton for glossy magazines worldwide, on Tumblr shared a series of images of Lomax leading up to her death.
