"Banshee" season 3 ended last week with Lucas Hood (Antony Starr) and Kai Proctor (Ulrich Thomsen) busy accomplishing on their own agendas. Hood saved other members of his 'Hoodlum Gang' who were captured by Col. Stowe after learning they are the ones behind the heist in Camp Genoa. In Philadelphia, Kai settled the score with the rivals Black Beards gang that tried to kill him.
Hood and Kai figured in so many bloody fights before. In fact, in one of "Banshee" season 3 episodes, they came close at killing each other if not for Brock's intervention. By the end of the third season finale, the two sat down below Hodd's house, looking like they have moved on from their past run ins. The main protagonist has abandoned his position as Banshee sheriff and considering the idea to become a full time criminal. Interestingly, it comes at a time when Kai is looking for an ally.
With the way their conversation went on in the last few minutes of the very last "Banshee" season 3 episode, is there a chance for this arch-rivals to work together next season? Series creator Jonathan Tropper speaks.
According to Tropper, the two's messy relationship will continue to grow after "Banshee" season 3 and that may or may not include becoming allies.
"Their relationship is certainly going to evolve now that it's not [Lucas'] fake job to take him down anymore," creator Jonathan Tropper told Zap2it. "I don't want to say much about what we're doing in Season 4, but I will say their relationship is definitely going to be in a different place. Does not being sheriff free Lucas up to pursue his personal vendetta against Proctor? I don't know. But Lucas will never be on anyone's side but his own."
"Banshee" season 4 will only have eight episodes according to reports. However, fans should not fret just yet as according to Tropper, there might have a fifth season if everything goes according to plan.
"I've always felt it was a five-season show," Yaitanes said. "Cinemax has always promised us that we would be able to respectfully end it. We'll know going in that it's our last season so we can plan appropriately. We do know how it ends."
Aside from Starr and Thomsen, other possible "Banshee" season 4 holdovers are Ivana Milicevic, Lili Simmons, Matt Servito, Tom Pelphrey, and Matthew Rauch.
