Fans are patiently waiting for the official announcement of "God of War 4" release date.
While it hasn't been confirmed yet, rumors suggest that it will happen at E3 2015 in June.
It has been reported that Sony's Santa Monica Studios is going to unveil major announcement about the gaming title's sequel during the said event.
It has been previously hinted by creative director Cory Barlog that the studios is going to provide information abou the upcoming "God of War 4" release date last December.
After officially confirming that the PlayStation exclusive game is already in development, IGN speculated that "God of War 4" is possible going to be released either in 2016 or 2017.
In addition, IGN mentioned that the fourth installment to the series would most likely be a reboot than a sequel.
Movie Pilot on the other hard, claimed that "God of War 4" would most likely not going to feature Kratos and a new character is expected to be revealed soon.
Dual Shockers added that a previously deleted Twitter post by Sony's Santa Monica Studio hinted that the famous "Ghost of Sparta" is definitely not coming back in the game.
"Yes, the Gods have verified it to be true," the studio's alleged answer to a fan who tweeted, "Please don't bring back Kratos or Greek Mythology. His story is done."
While news of Kratos being ousted in "God of War 4" is spreading like a crazy viral disease, not everyone is excited abou the idea, some gamers claim that without Kratos the experience would not be the same.
Others are open to the change though, stating that Sony's decision to drop Kratos from "God of War 4" could possible jump start the franchise since it will be introduced in the next generation of consoles for the first time.
The fourth installment of the highly acclaimed game series was first officially announced during the God of War Retrospective panel during the PlayStation Experience last year.
"God of War 4" release date is heavily expected to be announced at E3 2015 come June.
