Emma Watson is a smart, driven and talented young woman. It seems that the "Harry Potter" alum can do anything she sets her mind to. So why is starring as Disney's new Belle in the "Beauty And The Beast" movie scaring her?
The 24-year-old British star excitedly announced her involvement with the live action adaptation on Facebook last February. She also welcomed her co-stars on Twitter as Disney revealed that Dan Stevens will be protraying Beast and Luke Evans will be bringing Gaston to life.
"It was such a big part of my growing up, it almost feels surreal that I'll get to dance to 'Be Our Guest' and sing 'Something There,'" she posted on her official Facebook page. "My six year old self is on the ceiling - heart bursting. Time to start some singing lessons. I can't wait for you to see it."
However, it seems that the part of the film that she's most excited for is also making her very nervous.
"I sing, so that's really unexpected," the "Noah" star reportedly told Total Film Magazine (via The Telegraph) last week. "I've never had to do that for a film role before, and I think people will be interested to see me do something very different like that."
She'll be trying out something new for the "Beauty And The Beast" movie but it doesn't mean that she's going to be backing out of singing.
"It gives me a different challenge, really. That's terrifying in and of itself!" Watson added. Besides, she already has some practice singing on film. According to Vanity Fair, she already "cooed" a lullaby in "Noah."
She also tried dancing at the Yule Ball scene in "Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire" in 2005.
Meanwhile, Disney finally released a premiere date for the "Beauty And The Beast" movie. According to Deadline, avid fans of the classic fairy tale will get to see the live action remake on March 17, 2017.
The film studio is currently promoting Kenneth Branagh's "Cinderella." Upcoming cartoon reboots also include "The Jungle Book" and "Dumbo."
