Ever since Eva Mendes gave birth to Esmeralda Amada, Ryan Gosling remained quiet about his new role as a father.
The 34-year-old actor is not like any Hollywood star who announces their new baby on social media.
He is a very private person so the 41-year-old actress usually does all the talking.
However, he was forced to talk about the two women in his life during a press junket at the 2015 SXSW Film Festival in Texas. He was there to discuss his directorial debut "Lost River", but the topic led to another.
"I really like working with my friends; I love all of these people," Gosling said as reported by Us Weekly.
"Lost River" stars Christina Hendricks, Eva Mendes, Matt Smith, Saoirse Ronan, Ben Mendelsohn and Iain De Caestecker. His partner and co-director Guillermo del Toro teased the actor after he admitted how much he loved working with his co-stars.
"You have a baby with one of them!" Toro told Gosling and he was referring to Mendes and baby Esmeralda Amada. "I have a baby with one of them," he replied. "I have complicated, powerful female characters in my life, and that's growing," the actor added.
Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes first met on the set of "The Place Beyond the Pines" and started dating in 2012. The "Hitch" actress got pregnant last year, but she tried to hide her baby bump from the media. Mendes disappeared from the media for a few months and next thing we know, she already gave birth.
Many people wanted to see what their baby looks like, but they managed to keep her away from the media.
A few weeks ago, Eva spent her birthday with her boyfriend Ryan together with close friends and family at a skating rink in California. There were reports that Esmeralda Amada was also there, but still no photos of her.
During an interview with Violet Grey, Eva Mendes revealed why she and Ryan Gosling decided to hide her pregnancy.
"Whether we like it or not, privacy is going to be very difficult for Esmeralda. I think it's unfair but that's our reality. So Ryan and I decided early on to give her as much privacy as we could," she said.
