'Empire' TV Series Cast Jennifer Hudson Will Not Return In Second Season? Singer-Actress Speaks

| By

Jennifer Hudson made a strong debut as part of the "Empire" TV series cast last week.

The Grammy Awards winner was introduced in the "Sins of the Father" episode of the Fox musical drama and looks like she is set for more.

Hudson plays Michelle, the musical therapist for Andre Lyon who has a bipolar disorder. Andre is attached to his wife Rhonda but it seems he and Michelle are set to make great music together only after one session.

The story arc for Hudson's character is very intriguing and it would be fun to watch how the Michelle-Andre-Rhonda love triangle will play out.

However, the singer-actress joined the "Empire" TV series cast a little too late as it is already on its season finale. Now, fans are asking, how long is Hudson staying in the hit drama? Is Michelle part of the second season? Hudson said she still does not know anything but she is aware Michelle's storyline could grow.

"It does seem like it's open for [a return], but I don't know about that yet! Once you go on the journey with Michelle [in the finale], it does seem open," the newest "Empire" TV series cast said in an interview with the Hollywood Reporter.

"You kind of want to see who's going to win the battle. Is Andre going to win the battle? Is Lucious going to win the battle? Or is church going to win the battle? What's going to happen with her?"

Earlier in the interview, Hudson also discussed what's next for Michelle and Andre.

"They definitely have a serious bond - a connection - that is just there, no matter what they may face or what they're dealing with, and there is some confusion because they don't necessarily know what it is or how to deal with it. But they know that they can lean on each other."

Aside from Hudson, other huge guest stars in the "Empire" TV series cast are Naomi Campbell, Courtney Love, and Mary J. Blige. Rapper and producer Snoop Dogg will also grace the show in the finale.
