'Gears Of War 4' Xbox One Release Date To Be Revealed At E3 2015? Rod Ferguson Takes Over Black Tusk Studios Following Hanno Lemke's Exit

| By

"Gears Of War 4" Xbox One release date has yet to be officially announced, however fans and experts alike are expecting the sequel to be announced at E3 2015 this June.

While no further development has been revealed, the game developer, Black Tusk Studios has confirmed that the team behind the title is working doubly hard to pursue with the project.

In addition, now that Rod Ferguson has now taken over the company as the new studio head following the exit of Hanno Lemke for a GM position in Microsoft Studios UK, "Gears of War 4" is now expected to actively gear up, Hardcore Gamer reported.

To further solidify speculations that "Gears of War" release date announcement is coming soon, Game Spot reported that Xbox head Phil Spencer has previously confirmed that the gaming title is well on its way to reach its target launch for Xbox One now that the developer is "making a massive progress."

"The thing that was great about the early Gears of War games, to me, [was] just the epic scale of the settings that I was in," Spencer explained. "The story, the setting was a lot more what I would call soulful and maybe even a little dark. And [Rod Fergusson] and I have talked about this; I think the game over time became almost more of a parody of itself; not for any kind of horrible reasons. It's hard to continue to manage the IP."

And while gaming fans are expecting a sequel for the first three series, Spencer hinted that "Gears of War 4" might instead become a reboot following the prequels' success in the Xbox One console.

"And Gears 2 did well, Gears 3 did well," he said. "So I thought the franchise continued to grow. But we've talked about getting back to something ... I think the story and the setting and what they're going through ... in a Gears of War--the name of the game, it really meant something to what that game was about. We've got to get back to that. The feeling of those individuals."

For those who's not aware yet the "Gears of War" series was previously under the development of Epic Games before Black Tusk acquired it.
