Fresh from their honeymoon in Bora-Bora, Benedict Cumberbatch and pregnant wife Sophie Hunter joined distinguished guests in a charity dinner hosted at the Buckingham Palace.
According to Hello Magazine, the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA) - also known as Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) or Lou Gehrig's Disease - reception also had Victoria Wood, Michael Ball, Jon Lee from S Club 7, Greg Davies, and Susanna Reid as guests.
Cumberbatch reportedly became highly involved in the cause after acting as Stephen Hawking in a BBC drama last 2004. He met two other people who also had MND or ALS through the charity. He has been a patron for the charity for 11 years now.
"I'm very proud to still be involved - alongside Stephen - with the MND Association today," he said, according to Lancanshire Telegraph.
He also took several ice cold buckets of water during the viral event that was created for the said disease last year.
During the reception, he mingled with Princess Anne, Stephen Hawking and the other guests at the event as he kept Hunter right by his side.
Meanwhile, Benedict Cumberbatch's pregnant wife showed off her huge baby bump in a floor-length navy blue long gown. Her husband had his arm around her throughout the evening.
The Oscar nominee married the theater actress and director in the middle of the awards season last Valentine's Day. They tied the knot in a private ceremony in Isle Of Wight with only their closest family and friends in attendance.
They had a few days off to drive around in Los Angeles before attending the Oscars last February. Later on, the smitten couple flew off to their actual honeymoon in Bora-Bora.
Although the expectant parents are still attending public functions together, the "Hobbit" actor and his lovely wife are currently "nesting," preparing for the baby and adjusting to being newly married.
Benedict Cumberbatch's pregnant wife will reportedly give birth to the couple's first child this summer. The baby's sex is still unconfirmed but several talk show hosts have already tried their hand at naming the British actor's first baby.
