Khloe Kardashian: Simon Cowell's First Choice for 'X-Factor' Host

| By

Khloe Kardashian is reportedly Simon Cowell's first choice to be one of the c0-hosts for "X Factor," according to TMZ.

TMZ reports that sources claim Cowell believes that "Khloe makes the most sense in terms of audience draw, since they've already invested heavily in Britney Spears and Demi Lovato to attract young viewers."

The FOX talent competition has been operating without a host through its audition rounds but needs one for the live shows that will begin in October. A source tells the site there's "at least an 85 percent chance" Kardashian will get the job.

Since dumping Steve Jones after its first season, "The X Factor" and creator/judge Simon Cowell has been on the hunt for a new, fresh-faced host to take over.

According to a show source, others who screen-tested this week included Kevin Jonas, Erin Andrews, Ashley Roberts and Glee's Kevin McHale.

Cowell said he is looking for two hosts, one male and one female, preferably with no prior hosting experience, according to E! Online.

"That will make it more interesting," he explained. "There's so much talking on these shows, 11 or 12 minutes. It's too boring, as Ryan [Seacrest] demonstrated, for one person to say everything. You've got to mix it up a little bit. I kind of know what we're looking for, but that's why we screen-tested people."

Cowell and the show's other producers are hoping that audience will follow Kardashian to X Factor, giving the Fox show an edge over NBC's The Voice and its host Carson Daly.

"The X Factor" debuts Wednesday, Sept. 12 with new judges Britney Spears and Demi Lovato joining Cowell and L.A. Reid. The first cities featured will be Austin, Texas, San Francisco, and Providence, RI.
