Tianna Madison: Parents Suing Olympic Athlete for Saying They're Selfish

| By

Tianna Madison, the Olympic gold medalist, is facing a nasty lawsuit from her parents who allege she started rumors about them, calling them selfish and trying to bully her financially.

Tianna Madison's parents, Robert and Jo Ann Madison of Elyria, Ohio, filed the suit this week, seeking more than $25,000 each in damages, according to the Associated Press. The parents claim they've been loving, supportive and generous parents.

The lawsuit details allegations that Tianna Madison has falsely said that her parents mismanaged her finances and that they knowingly allowed a boy who had molested the athlete in the past to enter their home in her presence.

The lawsuit also claims that Tianna and her husband, John Bartoletta, spread stories that they had been selfish and bullying and mismanaged her finances to various third parties, including The Plain Dealer and other media outlets.

Tianna Madison was on the winning 4x100-meter relay track team at the Summer Olympics in London. She won the gold with Allyson Felix, Bianca Knight and Carmelita Jeter in world record time.
