A Bristol mom was horrified to find a deadly spider nesting on the bananas her husband brought home from Tesco, and it happens to be the deadliest venomous spider- the Brazilian Wandering spider, Daily Mail reported.
According to BBC, the venomous spider can kill a mouse with just 0.00000021 ounces of its neurotoxin. Its venom can also cause a painful four hours of erection to men, and since its discovery, scientists are now working on a research to formulate a cure for impotence from its venom.
Maria Layton, who discovered the spider, told the Daily Mail that her daughter asked for a banana and when she opened the bag, eggs have started to hatch.
"Siri asked for a banana. The first banana had a funny bit on it, so I got another one for her and that was when I found the massive spider cocoon," she told the Daily Mail.
"I was so scared -- I don't like spiders at the best of times, but have read about the Brazilian wandering spiders and was very frightened about the potential threat," she told The Telegraph.
The 43-year-old mom of two then remembered a story about the deadly spider and searched on the internet. She later found an image similar to what she found on her bananas.
Following what she've read online, she immediately sealed the eggs, and put it in the freezer which would kill them.
Meanwhile, after reaching out to Tesco, a spokesperson from the supermarket said that they've already apologized to Mrs. Layton and offered a "gesture of goodwill."
"Our policy is for the customer to take the product to the store where it can be investigated," Tesco's spokesperson said in an interview. "We don't have a service whereby someone can go out to the home."
"We've apologised to Mrs Layton and offered a gesture of goodwill. We've asked her to return the product to our store so we can conduct a full investigation."
