While reports claiming that the collaboration between Adele and legendary singer Phil Collins to produce the new album "25" was said to be cancelled, a new development suggests otherwise.
Mirror previously reported that the said teamup was cut short due to "Skyfall" singer's personal issues, however an alleged source reportedly approached the publication to reveal that the two highly acclaimed musicians are back in the studio to continue where they left off.
"Over the past few months, Phil has been working on the tracks once again," the insider claimed. "Adele put all her work on hold for a while, so it wasn't anything personal. It was just delayed."
Adding, "She did tell Phil that she was prioritizing her personal life at that time, but now that she's back in work mode their track is happening once again."
However no release date for Adele's new album titled "25" has yet to be announced, but rumors claim that it will hit the shelves sometime this year.
It was previously reported that the Grammy award-winning artist took to Twitter to hint the release of her new album.
"Bye Bye 25" and "See you later 2015," Adele tweeted.
While fans quickly assumed that the new album "25" will be released this year, XL recordings has confirmed the speculations, adding that Adele might even pull off a Beyonce like surprise release.
"The album will be released when it's ready - [we] hope that will be at some stage in 2015," the recording company stated.
"The plan is to release internationally on iTunes as a complete surprise without any previous promotion or build-up publicity campaign," XL said. "The shock tactics worked amazingly well for Beyoncé and the feeling is Adele's new album is so widely anticipated it doesn't need a long promotional build-up."
