While gamers are eager to hear updates on Tai Yasue's "Kingdom Hearts 3" game, speculations' about the sequel's characters soon arise.
Now that Disney has acquired license from Marvel and Star Wars, it has been heavily rumored that the "Kingdom Hearts" franchise would soon adopt the characters to the game.
While Yasue failed to confirm the speculations he, acknowledges the possibility of such durin his interview with Kotaku.
"I can't really go into any specifics or say anything about Star Wars, but when we come up with worlds we really want variety and to make sure that there's a lot of different types of worlds," Yasue answered in an interview with Kotaku.
"Any world that looks special is definitely a consideration; everything from the characters, to how they look and the differences between them. We think Star Wars is great but I'm not going to relate that to Kingdom Hearts III yet! We want a wide variety of worlds and when we come up with ideas, it's the differences and the originality of each that's really important," he added in a separate interview with IGN.
In a separate interview with Nexxtup (via PlayStation Universe), the co-creator of the highly anticipated RPG also explained that the characters are all connected to 1.5 and 2.5 universe.
"Inside the HD version, everything is connected to Kingdom Hearts III, so we will have events that explains the backstory of the kingdoms so you get a full understanding," he explained "All of the content through 1.5 and 2.5 connect to the story of 'Kingdom Hearts 3.'"
Adding, "Most definitely you can expect that after all we want to conclude the saga in 'Kingdom Hearts 3' and there are lot of threads that haven't been completed, for example Ventus and Terra in 'Birth By Sleep,' what's going to happen to them for example. There is going to be lot of stuff like that in 'Kingdom Hearts 3,' so expect a lot of characters, old and new."
He further teased fans that the entire production team is in full swing while working simultaneously to speed up the process of the game's progress without compromising the quality of the game.
"There are two teams but they are mixed, overlapping and I guess the programmers are split," Yasue explained. "There is one team for porting 1.5 and 2.5, and 3. So they are separated but the game design and artists are overlapping due to both."
"During the initial stage for 'Kingdom Hearts 3,' we had a lot of planning for game design, experimentation, research and development. [This way] it's good and productive, artist and designers do both at once."
