While fans are patiently waiting for "Winds of Winter" release date, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, who plays the role Jamie Lannister - the incestious brother of Cersei Lannister, hinted that the direction of major characters from HBO's "Game of Thrones" series would most likely deviate from that of the book.
In his interview with Men's Health UK, the 44-year-old Danish actor said that people behind the HBO phenomenal series would come up with a huge difference in portraying the book's major characters, while George R.R. Martin is still busy with "Winds of Winter" novel.
"He hasn't written the books, but he knows how he wants it to end. Well, I think he's written one of them now. I don't know when it comes out but I'd assume soon," Waldau explained.
Adding, "All the details, they're going to have to come up with them themselves. It's going to be interesting because I think the show is going to finish before the last book comes out. There'll be quite a big difference when it does."
And while, George R.R. Martin is still contemplating as to when "Winds of Winter" release date would be announced, he told Access Hollywood, that they are already working on "Game of Thrones" season 6.
"I met with David Benioff and Dan Weiss and Bryan Cogman," he confirmed. "And we had a long talk about some of the stuff that will be included in Season 6, but we haven't started writing that one yet."
He also revealed that "Game of Thrones" characters would most likely have a different direction from his novels.
He said in an interview with Conan O'Brien that "no one is safe" from HBO's hit TV series and fans who have read the books should not rely on what happened to the characters in the novel.
"Even the book readers who say, 'Well, this character is safe, he's not in any trouble because he's still in book five', may have an unpleasant surprise," he revealed.
This has been evident in the "Game of Thrones" season 4, which was supposedly based on the "A Song of Fire and Ice" novels, where the show's creators had the go signal to deviate from the book's story.
"I do kind of squeal a bit when I get the outline, 'Wait a minute, wait a minute, he's not dead in the books, he's still alive in the books,'" the famous novelist told O'Brien.
And while he's very much involved in "Game of Thrones" TV series Geroge R.R. Martin is also busy in rushing the "Winds of Winter" release date.
