7UP is bringing back its nostalgic Shirley Temple mocktail in a ready-to-drink version for the holidays, available at retailers nationwide for a limited time.

A new carbonated drink inspired by the classic Shirley Temple mocktail is set to hit store shelves next month, bringing excitement to fans of the beloved beverage. 7UP has confirmed that its Shirley Temple flavor will be available nationwide for a limited time, just in time for holiday gatherings.

7UP Fans Expect Holiday Release of Shirley Temple Mocktail

The news sparked enthusiasm online, with many fans sharing their eagerness on social media.

One user commented, "Yasss! Although, I've been calling Cherry 7UP Shirley Temple for decades, now."

According to a statement from 7UP shared with USA TODAY, the new Shirley Temple flavor will be a convenient ready-to-drink option. It will combine the familiar tastes of cherry and pomegranate, mirroring the original Shirley Temple, which is often made with grenadine syrup.

Fans can expect to see the drink on shelves by the end of October, well ahead of Thanksgiving and Christmas. The release comes as grocery stores prepare for a busy fall season, with new snacks and treats entering the market.

In addition to the Shirley Temple 7UP, Chips Ahoy! is launching its Big Chewy Cookies in three different flavors: chocolate chip, chocolatey brownie, and chocolatey caramel. These cookies will be sold individually as large, soft-baked treats.

New Shirley Temple 7UP Linked to Popular 'Dirty Shirley'

Keurig Dr Pepper, the company that produces 7UP, has noted the drink's connection to the "Dirty Shirley," which became popular over the summer and continues to be a favorite.

They recommend mixing 5 ounces of the new Shirley Temple soda with 1 ounce of vodka, a splash of cherry juice, and garnishing it with maraschino cherries for a festive adult version.

While the Shirley Temple 7UP is a new addition, it draws on a long history of mocktails. Traditionally, Shirley Temples were made with ginger ale, but many people also enjoy using lemon-lime sodas like 7UP or Sprite. This versatility makes it an appealing choice for various tastes.

The anticipated drink is already showing up on websites like Target, available in 2-liter bottles and 12-pack cans. 7UP has committed to offering both regular and zero-sugar versions of the Shirley Temple flavor, ensuring there is something for everyone during the holiday season.
