'Mass Effect 4' Release Date Announcement Happening At E3 2015? Bioware Promises New Characters For The Sequel

| By

The highly anticipated "Mass Effect 4" release date announcement is heavily rumored to happen at E3 2015 in June.

There has been no official announcement from Bioware as of press time, however it's been speculated that the game developer is actively gearing up to bring the fourth installment of the hit game to shelves this year.

While fans are eagerly waiting for "Mass Effect 4" release date, lead writer Mac Walters revealed that the game will delve on broader stories, far from Shepard's.

"Well, I can't get into details, but the idea is that we have agreed to tell a story that doesn't relate necessarily to any of the Shepard events at all, whatsoever," he told IGN.

"That's what we've been deciding for a while. But throughout it all, one of the key things is that it has to be 'Mass Effect.' It can't just feel like a spin-off. It has to feel like a 'Mass Effect' game at its heart, at its core. Just without the Shepard character or the Shepard specific companions."

While he did not specifically mention that Captain Shepard would be booted from "Mass Effect 4," rumors immediately spread claiming that the main protagonist would no longer be appearing in the sequel and that his daughter with Liara would replace him instead.

As fans reportedly felt disrespected with the third sequel's ending, Bioware made a statement saying that everyone should let go of it and move forward instead, promising that "Mass Effect 4" would feature more interesting twists and mature story.

"It's been 18-19 months since it came out and my thoughts on it are that we addressed it the best we could in the Extended Cut," the game's developer said. "We're obviously not going to be changing anything now. We're only going forward."

Furthermore, a recent development to "Mass Effect" confirmed that the game would expand online.

Senior development director Chris Wynn took to Twitter to assure fans that the decision would definitely be advantageous to the gamers.

"If anyone is concerned that online will take away from single player, I assure you that SP will be MASSIVE in the next Mass Effect," Wynn tweeted.

As E3 2015 event is fast approaching, fans are heavily anticipating that Bioware will announce the official release date of "Mass Effect 4."
