There's not much "Homeland" season 5 spoiler around but fans of the show are already making campaigns to see it tackle one of the most controversial issues today.
Fans are clamoring to see the hit show featuring the issue of the terrorist group ISIS or the Islamic State Iraq and Syria and the terror they spread.
The group has been around the news for months now, showing off to the world their acts deemed by many as barbaric. "Homeland", which stars Claire Danes in the lead role, deals with CIA's operations in international stage, terror cells and double agents. With that, fans are hoping its next plot will be about the ISIS.
There is no way the show will touch on the ISIS crisis. Speaking at the Paley Fest in Los Angeles on Friday night, executive producer Alex Gansa said some sort of "Homeland" season 4 spoiler, including a discussion about ISIS.
He revealed his writers has already been asked to steer clear from exploring such controversial topic for the fact that the group's deeds are too evil for TV.
"It's a very good question because Homeland for the last four seasons has tried to portray our adversaries and tried to humanize them," Gansa said when asked by a fan about such suggestion.
"And if you look at Abu Nazir, even look at Brody, or look at Haqqani this past season there was a real effort to make their concerns and their lives understandable. That is very hard to do with ISIS. It's very difficult to do because what they are doing on the ground feels so medieval and so horrible that you give them a platform on television I'm a little wary of to try to make what they are talking about understandable or relatable is very difficult."
Adding, "So we are struggling with that. Maybe this is too soon, Maybe we don't understand them well enough; It may be that they are just too evil to dramatize on television."
The only sure "Homeland" season 4 spoiler he shared is about the show's next destination.
"We're shooting in Germany," he told the crowd, before dropping an even bigger bombshell: "Carrie will no longer be an intelligence officer."
