Cristiano Ronaldo-Irina Shayk split was reportedly because of the Russian model's argument with the Real Madrid star's mother.
However, based on what Shayk said to the media, it seems that is not what triggered the break up. In an interview with Spanish society magazine Hola, Shayk was asked to described her ideal man. Her description prompted the public to think that her comments are somewhat related to her past relationship.
"My ideal man is faithful, honest and a gentleman who knows how to treat women," said Irina Shayk who spent five years with Cristiano Ronaldo. "I don't believe in men who make us feel unhappy, because they're boys not men."
Shayk even went on to say that she was wrong thinking that she already found the one.
"I thought I had once found the ideal man but it didn't turn out that way. I think a woman feels ugly when she's got the wrong man at her side. I've felt ugly and insecure."
Speculations that the Cristiano Ronaldo-Irina Shayk breakup was due to a third party got even bigger as she further mentioned that partners should believe in "monogamous relationship" and loyalty.
"Relationships are hard so you have to know what type of man you want by your side and what their values are, what is important in his life.
"If you stay with someone it's because you're walking in the same direction and you're both looking for the same thing.
"Both should share the same concept of what a relationship means and the same energy to believe in a monogamous relationship."
"I love honest men and a I love a man who is loyal to women."
Right now, it the Cristiano Ronaldo-Irina Shayk romance revival seems far-fetched. The Real Madrid star is currently linked to Spanish news anchor named Lucia Villalon.
