After the top 16 was announced last week, fans were immediately asked to vote for their favorite artist to get into "American Idol" season 14 top 12!
There were several surprises and a lot of upsets last week when the eight boys and eight girls were announced. Nevertheless, the show still managed to keep several promising individuals.
The eight boys who sang their favorite Motown hits last week included 16-year-old Daniel Seavey, crowd favorite Clark Beckham, firecracker Qaasim Middleton, and 28-year-old Nick Fradiani.
Mark Andrew, Rayvon Owen, Adam Ezegelian, and Quentin Alexander are also up for a spot in this week's "American Idol" season 14 top 12.
Michael Simeon, Riley Bria, Savion Wright and Trevor Douglas unfortunately didn't make it.
On the girls' side, actress Loren Lott, Hispanic country singer Alexis Gomez, eccentric accordion player Joey Cook, and teenager Tyanna Jones got in the top 16.
Adana Duru, Sarina Joi-Crowe, Jax and Maddie Walker also made it to the final eight girls.
Katherine Winston, Lovey James, Shannon Berthiaume, and Shi Scott were eliminated.
As for this week, the top 16 will be revisiting the songs they sang during their auditions!
According to TV Line, the top 16 will sing the tracks that scored them a golden ticket or the second track that wasn't aired during the audition episodes.
Afterwards, the top five girls and top five boys that America voted will be announced. Judges Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick, Jr will decide on two more Wild Cards to round out the "American Idol" season 14 top 12.
Starting March 19, the long-running Fox show will reportedly be cut into a Wednesday-only show per week. One contestant will be eliminated then.
Compared to previous seasons, this one will be combining both elimination and performance night in one.
