Aside from male clones (to be played by Ari Millen), another thing that makes people more excited about the "Orphan Black" season 3 premiere are the new characters.
Once the new season gets going, they will get to know the new people that will shake the clone world. One of them is "Shameless" star Justin Chatwin.
According to a press release from BBC America in November last year, the 32-year-old's character is Jason Kellerman, a savvy drug dealer in the guise of a charismatic businessman. However, in a recent interview, series creator John Fawcett, he is more than just that. He is also connected to one of the female clones.
In an interview with the Entertainment Weekly ahead of the "Orphan Black" season 3 premiere next month, Fawcett hints Chatwin's role holds a key to the past of one of the most loved female clones, Allison Hendrix a.k.a. Soccer Mom (Tatiana Maslany).
"Yeah, we have Justin Chatwin. He's an old friend," Fawcett said when asked to talk about the new actors in "Orphan Black" season 3.
"I've worked with him before so he agreed to do the show and he plays in Alison's world. He's an interesting cat because he's an old flame of Alison's that comes back. And that's pretty fun."
Fawcett also discussed the roles of newcomers Ksenia Solo and James Frain.
"Ksenia Solo is in our show and she winds up in Cosima's world when Cosima and Delphine are split up," he explained." James Frain is coming to us straight from the new season of True Detective and he's a great guy that I've been following since The Tudors, so I feel really lucky. He's a very serious, heavy dude from Topside. He's a really cool new character.."
He did not specify, however, if these new characters will show up in the "Orphan Black" season 3 premiere episode.
Aside from the new actors, still part of the show are Dylan Bruce, Evelyne Brochu, Jordan Gavaris, and Maria Doyle Kennedy.
"Orphan Black" season 3 premiere is on April 18 and will be broadcast in BBC America, AMC, SundanceTV, IFC and We TV.
