‘Jane The Virgin’ Star Gina Rodriguez Wants To Fight Crime? Can She Take On A Superhero Role In The Future?

| By

She's making headlines as the breakout star that captured the hearts of Latinas and women all over the world but "Jane The Virgin" star Gina Rodriguez wants to be known for something else as well.

When asked if she'd be willing to take on a more badass role, the talented actress quickly answered in the positive.

"I would love to be a superhero-that's all I want to do is play a superhero," she recently told E! Online.

She's also pretty sure that she'll be awesome at it, too.

"And let's be real, I could kick some ass. We all know I could kick some ass," the Golden Globe winning actress added.

This talk stemmed from Mravel's recent announcement that they will be making a full feature film on Captain Marvel. Carol Danvers or Captain Marvels would be the first female superhero in Marvel's repertoire once the movie is released. Casting for the role has yet to be made public.

So far, fans are eager to see Annasophia Robb, "Vampire Diaries" star Candice Accola, Jennifer Lawrence, Natalie Dormer or Amber Heard as the female superhero according to E! News.

With "Jane The Virgin" star Gina Rodriguez wanting to fight crime in one of her future projects, should Marvel also consider her as one of the possible women that bring Captain Danvers alive in the big screen?

Although the CW series will be getting a second season, Rodriguez will be getting a hiatus after the first one ends. Will she be working on her fighting skills then?

Meanwhile, the NYU Tisch School for the Arts graduate is currently starring in an indie online series called "I Love Lucy & Bekka."

According to Tubefilter, the web series revolves around two roommates that are totally honest with each other.

Series creator Rachael Holder calls it "a fly on the wall experience of hanging out with two girls with a unique outlook on life."

You can also catch the "Jane The Virgin" star Gina Rodriguez in the Golden Globe nominated series every Monday, 8 PM on the CW.
