"Star Trek 3" movie is definitely moving forward.
The sequel to the hit scifi franchise is reportedly going to start filming in Vancouver on April 15 this year, On Location Vacations reported.
Screen Rant on the other hand, claimed that some scenes of "Star Trek 3" will be filmed in parts of in Seoul, South Korea.
With director Justin Lin on board, following Roberto Orci's exit, and location all figured out, Film Divider reported that "Breaking Bad" star Bryan Cranston is in talks to play the new villain for Paramount's sci-fi movie.
The giant studio company is said to have offered a deal hoping that Cranston would accept.
In addition to Cranston, "Star Trek 3" is also said to have three new female characters described as the Federation President, a new Starfleet captain and Bone's ex-wife. However the entertainment site did not mention as to who will be playing the roles of the said characters.
Returning cast Simmo Pegg, on the other hand, has been tapped to co-write the screenplay for "Star Trek 3" and would be directly working with Lin.
"Into Darkness" director J.J. Abrams, who'll be producing the project, has already expressed his confidence in Pegg, claiming that the actor's experience in the prequels would be of great help in producing a great story line for the film.
"[Pegg] and I had talked quite a bit about story, he had a lot of wonderful ideas," Abrams explained. "It just sort of felt obvious that he would be a wonderful person to work on the story and help craft the story, so he's working on it."
Pegg's co-star and also a returning cast, Chris Pine has also expressed his delight upon hearing the news that the "Mission Impossible" star will be joining the team as a writer.
"We're all really excited because I think what we enjoy about it is that we have a laugh and we want to make sure that that's still kind of embedded in there so to have Simon writing it is the perfect fit," Pine said in an interview with MTV News at Sundance Film Festival.
"Star Trek 3" movie will reportedly hit theaters in the franchise's 50th anniversary in 2016.
