"God of War 4" release date to be announced at E3 2015 in June?
Sony's Santa Monica Studios is reportedly making some major announcements about the game's sequel at the highly aniticipate event.
The speculations surrounding the release date of "God of War 4" soon sparked after creative director Cory Barlog's confirmation that the team would be providing details about the game's progress last December.
Following Sony's announcement that a sequel to the PlayStation exclusive title is in its early stages of development, IGN claimed that "God of War 4" is possible going to be released either in 2016 or 2017.
The game publication further stipulated that the fourth installment to the "God of War" franchise would be a reboot rather than a prequel.
Movie Pilot on the other hard, reported that the game's main character, Kratos, would most likely be out of "God of War 4" and a new character might be in place to take over.
Dual Shockers added that a previously deleted Twitter post by Sony's Santa Monica Studio is a dead give away that Kratos is no longer coming back to the sequel.
"Yes, the Gods have verified it to be true," the studio's alleged answer to a fan who tweeted, "Please don't bring back Kratos or Greek Mythology. His story is done."
However, not everyone seemed to have taken the news well as some gamers claimed that removing Kratos from "God of War 4," would probably not work at all, inisting that the experience would not be the same without him.
Others on the other hand, are open to the change, claiming that Sony's decision to drop Kratos from the game's sequel might be a good move and could give the franchise a jump start, pointing out that "God of War" is going to be introduced to the next generation console for the first time.
The fourth installment of the highly acclaimed game series was first officially announced during the God of War Retrospective panel during the PlayStation Experience last year.
Gamers are reportedly expecting the announcement of "God of War 4" release date at E3 2015 come June.
