'Rush Hour' TV Series Cast News: 'Tekken' Actor Selected For Jackie Chan's Chief Yan Naing Lee

| By

"Rush Hour" TV series cast has found its Jackie Chan and he might be as good as the celebrated Chinese action star.

On Mar. 3, Deadline reported Jon Foo has been selected to play Chief Yan Naing Lee who appeared in all three films of the franchise.

Deadline wrote:

"The 1998 Rush Hour movie helped make Hong Kong film star and martial arts wiz Jackie Chan a household name in America, jumpstarting a successful Hollywood career. Now CBS' TV adaptation of the hit movie franchise is looking to do the same for Jon Foo, who has landed the Detective Lee role played in the movies by Chan."

This first confirmed "Rush Hour" TV series cast, just like Jackie Chan, has a rich martial arts background. He is a wushu practitioner, which helped him land roles in some of the biggest international action movies.

Before landing the main role in "Rush Hour" TV series cast, Foo has worked on many films sometimes as an actor, as stunt performer or stunt director.

The latest of which is "Olympus Has Fallen" starring Gerard Butler. He also appeared in the "Batman Begins" as a member of the League of Shadows member and as a stunt performer. His biggest project thus far is "Street Fighter: Legacy" as Ryu and "Tekken" film adaptation as Jin Kazama.

There is no "Rush Hour" TV series cast news yet for the role of Detective James Carter portrayed by Chris Tucker in all three movies.

"Rush Hour" TV series adaptation was first confirmed in October last year and according to a report by the Entertainment Weekly, it will follow the same plot as the big screen version. Script will be written by Bill Lawrence and Blake McCormick who will also both act as the executive producer.

Original director Brett Ratner and producer Arthur Sarkissian will also executive produce with Jeff Ingold for Warner Bros TV and Lawrence's studio-based Doozer.

Expect more "Rush Hour" TV Series cast news in the coming weeks.
