Kobe Bryant News: Wife Vanessa Had A Miscarriage During The Height Of Black Mamba's Rape Case In 2003

| By

There's not much Kobe Bryant news around relating to Los Angeles Lakers and their current campaign in the NBA.

Being out because of a recurring injury, the Black Mamba is still nowhere near the action and the only thing keeping him busy nowadays is his own documentary called "Muse."

Fans feeling thirsty for Kobe Bryant news can watch his own documentary to get a peek of his personal and private life. The documentary features the struggles and triumphs of the 17-year veteran. Fans will also get to watch shocking revelations from the five-time champion, including an unfortunate experience during the infamous rape case against him in 2003.

In "Muse" Bryant revealed that case has taken away lot from him, including a child.

"It is a man's job to look out for your family. In that aspect, I failed miserably," Bryant admitted. He went on to explain how he failed his loved ones during that ugly stretch.

"We were expecting our second child during that time, and there was just so much stress, she actually miscarried," he explained.

Adding, "It is something I have a real hard time dealing with that, I feel like it was my fault. We should have been building our family, but because of my mistake, we lost a baby. "We try to justify the fact its not, realise how common miscarriages are, these things happen, but the reality is it happened because of me. That's the reality of it, and that is something I've got to carry forever."

The rape case allegations took over most Kobe Bryant news 12 years ago. His great play in the NBA was even overshadowed by such claim. The complaint was filed in 2003 by a 19-year old The Lodge hotel employee who accused the Los Angeles Lakers star of making advances on her while the NBA Star was undergoing knee surgery in a nearby clinic. Bryant lost his endorsement contracts including McDonald's and Nutella. More than that, his wife Vanessa almost left him.

The assault case was dropped by prosecutors after the "alleged" victim refused to testify in the court. Kobe Bryant also apologized to the hotel employee.

"Although I truly believe this encounter between us was consensual, I recognize now that she did not and does not view this incident the same way I did," Bryant said in a statement. "After months of reviewing discovery, listening to her attorney, and even her testimony in person, I now understand how she feels that she did not consent to this encounter."
