Does Jorge Eads' exit mean a bleak chance for "CSI Las Vegas" to be renewed for a 16th season?
Eads played one of the few original cast members left in the long-running CBS crime drama. According to Christian Today, he was well-loved by both fans and members of the show as Nick Stokes.
Thankfully, his exit from the show didn't end up in a bloody death. He was offered a job to step up as the crime lab director in San Diego after a double kidnapping prompts the current department head to get an early retirement.
His exit was reportedly a result of his character's evolvement in the series. By giving him a job somewhere other than Las Vegas would leave the door open should he want to return.
His heart-warming exit from the show follows other original characters' exits.
Gary Dourdan (as Warrick Brown) was the first one to leave. William Petersen (as Gil Grissom) followed later on, then Marge Helgenberger (as Catherine Willows) and finally, Paul Guilfoyle (as Jim Brass) bowed out last year.
They were replaced with new characters that were brought to life by some talented actors.
Now the only remaining team member is Jorja Fox (as Sara Sidle).
After losing yet another original character, it looks like dreams of "CSI Las Vegas" being renewed for the next season seem to be bleak.
The first distressing clue had been the length cut from 22 episodes to 18. Ratings were reportedly too low for the show to receive a sure renewal from CBS.
On the other hand, fans were left with a cliffhanger in the "CSI Las Vegas" season finale. Julie Finley had become a victim of the Gig Harbor Killer (who was finally put away once and for all) and is left in a coma by the end of the episode.
